Task 1
Title: Describe the most important decision that you’ve ever made in your life and explain why it is important. Include reasons and examples to support your response.
The most important decision in my life I guess is going to America in the future for further study.
It’s important because this decision actually decides what my future would be. Instead of spending my 4-year college life here in my home country, I will step onto an unfamiliar land and experience different culture. It will be wonderful, as well as challenging.
Besides, this decision also means I need to work harder, prepare many things, be persevering and have an international view. You know, going abroad is not as easy as finding a work in hometown. I do not like a boring life; on the contrary I hope my life can be full of challenge and exciting.
Task 2
Title: Do you agree or disagree that high school students should learn music and art.

1. Music and art is just as important as other subjects.
2. broaden our beings and show us culture.
3. help develop people like journalists, musicians.
I agree that high school students should learn music and art at school.
The first reason is that music and art are just as vital to an individual's education and well being as other subjects. Performing and visual arts are put into school to help broaden our beings and show us culture. Dancing, singing, acting and writing, these are all outlets for us to express ourselves and connect with others.
Another thing is having the art class being removed from high school; it will cause the lack of uniqueness and creativity among many students. As a society, we need artists, journalist, actors, actress and musicians. One of the only ways for these people still exit is through what they are exposed to during school.
Task 3
Reading Listening
A student (Paul) wrote a letter to propose that university should allow cell phones in the library for two reasons:
1. Students could talk on the phone quietly, so other students won’t be disturbed.
2. Secondly, in case of emergencies, students need to have the calls.
The woman disagrees.
1. Library is really quiet and if people whisper to talk on the phone, people on the other side cannot hear them clearly, as a result, students will still speak loudly.
2. As for emergencies, she thinks students have responsibility to check their messages time by time if they know someone will call them in some urgent situations.
Task 4
Reading Listening
Convergent evolution Examples: 有两种pig。一种在Africa 一种在Australia,因为吃同一种insect,虽然two unrelated species,但是两种都有long sticky tongue。
Task 5
The man in the conversation attends a club and they would like to travel to France, but he doesn’t have enough money to pay for the plane ticket
1. He can work extra ten hours every day at the restaurant, but he will be much busier in the following weeks because he has an exam next week. If he works longer at restaurant, he won’t have enough time to prepare for his exams.
2. He can sell his guitar to pay for the ticket. He hasn’t been using his guitar for a long time, but it’s really a nice guitar.
Task 6
